Principal News Term 2, Week 9

I commence today’s Newsletter and wish to formally acknowledge and express my sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone in our wonderful school community, as my family faces such an unexpected challenge.

By way of an update, last Friday, Thomas concluded his Induction Phase of approx five weeks of chemotherapy treatment, and we awaited the results from Melbourne yesterday, of his most recent bone marrow biopsy.  I am thrilled to be able to confirm that we received news yesterday afternoon that remission has been able to have been brought about, and thus in moving forward, Thomas will now commence the Consolidation Phase of treatment, which will call for slightly less intensive chemotherapy, and hopefully for the most part, maybe as an outpatient over the coming six month period.  We were all very happy and slept a little better last night!  It was lovely to have him at home, and I thank everyone for what can only be seen as such an outpouring of love, prayers, warmth and support from the Sacred Heart Community- it has been so very much appreciated by us all!
