Open Classrooms

Over the last few weeks, our Open Classroom visits have taken place where students have been encouraged to celebrate their learning with their parents by viewing and interacting with workbooks, files, displayed pieces of work, computer work, and educational games. We thank our teachers and education assistants for their time and support for facilitating these sessions. We hope that our parents enjoyed their time in the classrooms and that our students felt proud of their efforts.

Father’s Day 2022

We hope that  all of our Sacred Heart Dads had a great Father’s Day last Sunday. This day has become a day not to only honour our fathers, but all who act as a father figure. At this special time of the year, we pause to give thanks for our dads, uncles, grandfathers and other special males in our lives.

Year 3 Assembly

On Thursday 8th September the Year 3 farmers/gardeners presented their assembly item about procedure writing. The students demonstrated their Talk for Writing skills by acting out the structure on ‘How to Plant a Seed’. They ended their performance by entertaining the audience with a song and dance about how farmers grow and produce food.

Catholic Education Western Australia staff are invited to Webinar Week, a professional learning opportunity to join in with the virtual learning sessions across a variety of topics, organised by CEWA’s Virtual Conference Steering Committee. Webinar Week runs during every term, in Week 8, with sessions every afternoon from 3:30pm – 4:15pm for all staff in CEWA schools and offices. Mrs Amanda Saraceni and Miss Mikaela Caruso, together, presented a session titled, ‘STEM Engagement Initiative at Sacred Heart,’ focusing on how our school uses a whole-school STEM inquiry approach from Kindy to Year 6. They shared STEM experiences we provide for our students and how they are designed to equip the students with 21st-century skills to thrive in a world where change is constant and learning never stops.

Social Worker Corner

This is the time of year to remind each and every one of us to ask, “Are you ok?”

RUOK Day is Thursday 8th September. It is our National Day of Action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, “Are you ok?” and start a meaningful conversation whenever we spot signs that someone they care about might be struggling with life.

See link below for a wealth of information, explanations, and support for all of us, whether in the workplace, community, home, or school setting – for the times we are able to be the asker and the times we need someone else to ask us – “Are you ok?”

At Sacred Heart we have and will be accessing the resources, tips, ideas, and lesson plans appropriate to our primary age children, to share in the classroom.  Here is one of the clips from the Educator Resources section.
