Throughout the day, our students had a lovely time participating in several Feast Day activities. We would like to thank staff for their assistance and involvement in the preparation of this day. We hope that the students had a wonderful day.

Term Break

We hope that all the families have a wonderful break together and spend some time re-energising. We wish you a safe and happy holiday break and look forward to seeing you all in Term 3, when school commences on Tuesday 19th July.

Year Five and Six Winter Lightning Carnival

The Term Two Winter Lightning Carnival saw our Year Five and Six students selecting and playing either soccer, AFL 9s or netball in an interschool competition. Students kicked, tackled, pivoted, shot, shoulder passed and defended against the other Catholic Schools in our Association. Our Sacred Heart netball team won the B Division Netball competition. It was beautiful to see this team in full flight; the ball travelled from the back of the court to the goal net with only three passes. The soccer and AFL teams had fun tackling, passing, scoring goals and saving many goals with strong defence. Up against bigger bodies and more experienced players, our students showed persistence and grit. Well done to our sport stars!

Kick It Soccer Incursion

Kindy to Year 6 students are receiving expert soccer coaching from Football West coaches, in a four-week after-school ‘Kick It’ soccer clinic, on the Sacred Heart oval. The sessions include small game play, skill development, and kicking and dribbling practise through fun games, such as soccer Spiderman. Well done to the students who are showing off their soccer skills and to the parents who have come off the bench to encourage their youngsters.

Squash Incursion

This week, the upper primary students were given an amazing opportunity to have a squash hit out with Tim Cowell from WA Squash. Students got to challenge themselves with some ball and racquet handling skills, such as doing hopscotch whilst balancing the ball on the strings. Serving and striking were practised, before a King of the Court game was played in the inflatable squash courts.
