Kindy and Pre-Primary Athletics Carnival

Last week our Kindy and Pre-Primary students participated in their annual Athletics Carnival. We take this opportunity to thank Miss W and all of the Junior Cluster Staff for their organisation and preparation for this day. We also thank our Year 6 Sports Council for their assistance and all the families who attended and cheered. Our little athletes shone!

Remembrance Day Ceremony

Remembrance Day in Australia is an occasion to commemorate and remember all Australians in the armed forces who have died in the line of duty. On Thursday, our Year 5 students and Mrs Angwin prepared a very moving ceremony to commemorate Remembrance Day and to honour the memory of those soldiers who died fighting in all wars and conflict.

Lest we forget.

Governor’s School STEM Award Ceremony

On Monday, Mrs McGuire, Mrs Perlini and Year 6 student, Jessica Boyes, will attend the Governor’s School STEM Award ceremony at Government House. In September, Sacred Heart was announced as one of 6 state finalists for the Primary Category of this award. Good luck, SHPSH!

Finance News

With the end of term approaching, please could you ensure all fees and charges for 2021 (and any prior years) are up to date.  Should you have a regular direct debit already in place, no further action is required on your behalf.  Should you not already have done so, and envisage not being able to have all fees and charges paid by year end, please contact Linda Robertson on 9253 2502 to discuss and make suitable arrangements for ongoing repayments.

The Department of Education will be conducting an audit of our students attendance for Semester 2, 2021 at the end of November 2021.  Should your class teacher therefore provide you with any outstanding absentee notes, please could you assist in preparation for this audit, by signing and returning the notes as soon as they are received.  It is imperative that all absentees are accounted for, as student attendance plays a significant role in ensuring ongoing government funding.

Thank you

Sport Notice

Congratulations to the Kindy and Pre-Primary students for a very successful Lower Primary Carnival on Monday November 1. Students showcased their running and teamwork skills for their many family members who came to Sacred Heart Primary School to support the kids. It was so promising to see the skills and fair play of our future athletes. Of particular note, was the amazing balancing skills of the students. I’ve never seen a quicker Egg and Spoon relay! Thank you to the staff and Year Six Sports Council for all of your help.

Miss Kate Witkowski (Physical Education Teacher)
