Vinnies Christmas Appeal
The Pastoral Care Council are organising a Christmas Appeal for Vinnies. On the poster below, are details for donations. 2020 has been a hard year for many people and there are many families in our local community that need support. Students will be able to bring in donations until the 4th December. Thank you for your support.
Remembrance Day Ceremony
Remembrance Day in Australia is an occasion to commemorate and remember all Australians in the armed forces who have died in the line of duty. Last Wednesday, our Year 5 students and Mrs Angwin prepared a very moving ceremony to commemorate Remembrance Day and to honour the memory of those soldiers who died fighting in all wars and conflict.
Lest we forget.
By now, all parents will have received electronic information regarding the ordering of the Kindy to Year 6 Book Lists. Ordering book lists is done online, following the instructions provided to parents. Please note: ordering book lists by the 27th November will attract ‘free delivery’. Orders can still be placed past the ‘return date’ but it will incur a late fee.
Library Book Return
As the school year draws to a close, we ask that all outstanding school library books are returned no later than Friday 4th December. Library books can be returned either directly to your child’s teacher, or to the library chute (at next week’s Library class). Thank you for your attention to this matter.
1:1 MacBook Night Thank you
We would like to thank the Year 3 Parents for attending the MacBook Information Night on Thursday. This evening gave parents the opportunity to see the development of technology skills and learn about how the laptops are used, as a tool, to enhance teaching and learning at Sacred Heart. Alex from Technology Tree, one of our IT consultants and technician, concluded the presentation discussing the technical specifics for the computer and network, for the 1:1 MacBook Air Laptop program. Thank you to the Upper Cluster staff for their time in preparing such an informative night.

Dear Parents and Carers,
We have been preparing a wonderful end of year Christmas Concert and Prize Night. The concert, “The Heart of Christmas”, will involve each class (Years Kindy-Year 6). The Year One students will be leading the narration and drama of the nativity. Pre Kindy students and their families will not be performing at the Concert, but are most welcome to attend the evening.
This year’s concert will take place on Friday 4th December 2020 on the School Oval. The gates on Harold St only, will open at 6.15pm. Children are asked to arrive at their classrooms by 6.20pm to prepare for their performance. All students will remain with their class teachers for the duration of the evening. Parents are asked to be seated by 6.30pm in the designated parent area in a COVID safe manner. We anticipate an 8.30pm conclusion.
At the end of the evening, we ask all parents to collect their seated children, from their teachers.
The costume for all the students consists of:
black leggings or pants/jeans (no shorts), and a plain white t-shirt, worn with their black sports shoes and a red and white trimmed “Santa hat”. These items are to be worn to the Concert evening.
Please note- Parents are requested to support the directive from teachers, that no additional hair accessories, reindeer antlers, coloured spray or decorations be worn.
Year One children will have been provided with their Nativity Costume, and will wear this to the Concert. The costume will remain at school at the end of the Concert evening.
Please contact me if you have any queries about the Concert. Deanna.email@example.com
